A cardiologist is a medical doctor who specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, prevention of diseases as well as conditions of the heart and blood vessels. They are experts in the cardiovascular system, which includes the heart and blood vessels and are trained to manage a wide range of heart-related conditions including heart attacks, heart failure, arrhythmias, angina, hypertension and peripheral artery disease.

Cardiologists may work in a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, private practices and research institutions. They use a range of diagnostic tools and procedures such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), stress tests, echocardiograms, cardiac catheterization as well as angiograms in order to diagnose heart conditions and develop treatment plans.

Eligibility

For Bachelor’s

  • Aspirants need to pass 10+2 with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology from any recognised board. 
  • It is mandatory for students to pass MBBS.

For Masters

  • Scholars must possess a Postgraduate degree after completing MBBS.
  • To get admission in the PG Program, seekers need to clear the MS or BHU MD entrance exam. 
  • Candidates can choose DM (Doctor of Medicine) courses.
