About

A costume designer is a professional who creates costumes for theatrical productions, television shows, movies and other types of visual media. They work closely with directors, producers and actors to design as well as create costumes that help bring characters to life and convey a specific time period, mood or theme. 

Costume designers play a crucial role in bringing the visual aspects of a production to life. They must have a keen eye for design, strong communication skills, an ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.

Eligibility

For Bachelor’s

  • To be eligible for a UG program in Costume Designing a candidate must have completed their 10+2 (or equivalent) education from a recognized board. Some institutes may also require candidates to have a minimum aggregate score of 50-60% in their 10+2 exams. 
  • Additionally, some institutes may also conduct an entrance exam or an interview to assess the seeker's skills and aptitude for the program.

For Master’s

  • To be eligible for a PG program in Costume Design, a student must have completed their bachelor's degree in Costume Design, Textile Design or a related field from a recognized university. 
  • Some institutes may also require candidates to have a minimum aggregate score of 50-60% in their bachelor's degree exams.
  • Additionally, some institutes may also conduct an entrance exam or an interview to assess the scholar's skills and aptitude for the program.
