About

A food technologist works on the physical, chemical and biological components of food to enhance the method of processing, preserving and packaging. A food technologist develops ways to improve the flavour and maintain nutritional value of food. Moreover, testing of food is also conducted to make sure food safety. 

Food technologists mostly work with food suppliers to ensure proper shipment of food. They also visit the food industries or farms to continue their work. Furthermore, they inspect the harmful components through research, improve safety and develop food’s nutritional value. 

Eligibility

For Bachelor’s

  • Aspirants need to pass 10+2 with at least 45% marks in Science stream from any recognised board. 
  • Students can pursue a Bachelor's degree or diploma in food technology.

 For Masters

  • Scholars need to pass their bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks. 
  • Seekers can opt for MSc in Food Technology.
  • Some colleges/universities also require passing marks of entrance exams like CFTRI (Central Food Technology Research Institute) or CEUT PG.
