Pathology is the branch of medicine that deals with the study of diseases, their causes as well as effects. A pathologist is a medical doctor who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by examining tissues, blood samples and other bodily fluids. Moreover, they work closely with other healthcare professionals to help identify and treat diseases as well as develop treatment plans for patients.

Pathologists have a broad range of responsibilities including conducting autopsies, analysing biopsy specimens and interpreting laboratory test results. Eligibility

For Bachelor’s

  • Students must have completed their 10+2 with at least 55% marks in the Science stream.
  • A degree of bachelor’s in pathology or other relevant field is a great option to become a pathologist. 
  • A diploma or certificate can also be pursued after 10+2. 

For Master’s

  • A master’s degree in pathology or related fields can enhance the knowledge of seekers.
  • Some colleges may also conduct entrance exams for admission.
  • Undergraduates can further opt for doctoral courses after completing bachelor’s degree.
