Programmes Offered by IITs

Apart from B. Tech programs, the top IIT colleges in India are known for their extensive range of postgraduate and doctoral programs. These include Master of Technology (M. Tech), Master of Science (MSc), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs in various engineering, science, and technology fields. Additionally, IITs offer dual-degree programs, allowing students to pursue both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in an integrated fashion.

The institutes also cater to diverse academic interests with interdisciplinary programs, combining engineering with management, humanities, and other fields. This multidisciplinary approach prepares students for the evolving demands of the global workforce.

Entrance Exam

Admission to undergraduate programs, including B. Tech, at IITs, is primarily through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. JEE Advanced is the second stage of the two-part JEE examination, the first being the JEE Main. Only students who qualify in JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, which is considered one of the most challenging engineering entrance exams in India.

JEE Advanced assesses candidates' understanding of physics, chemistry, and mathematics, and successful performance in this examination is crucial for securing admission to the prestigious IITs. The rigorous selection process ensures that those admitted to IITs are among the brightest and most academically proficient students in the country.
