What is AFCAT?
The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is a competitive examination conducted by the Indian Air Force for the selection of officers in various branches such as Flying, Ground Duty (Technical), and Ground Duty (Non-Technical). Held twice a year, typically in February and August, AFCAT is open to both male and female candidates who meet specific educational and age criteria. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions covering subjects like General Awareness, Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning and Military Aptitude.
In addition to the written test, candidates applying for the Flying Branch must also pass the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS). Successful candidates undergo further stages of selection, including an interview with the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB), medical examinations, and a thorough background check. AFCAT is a highly sought-after examination, offering a prestigious and challenging career in the Indian Air Force, characterized by a commitment to excellence, service to the nation, and the opportunity for personal and professional growth.
