Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is a public central university located in New Delhi, India. It was established in 1920 by nationalist Muslim leaders and was originally named the "Jamia Millia Islamia College". It was granted the status of a university in 1988.

JMI offers undergraduate, postgraduate as well as research programs in various disciplines including engineering, humanities and social sciences, law, education and natural sciences. It also has several centers along with institutes for research and development in specialized fields such as nanotechnology, biotechnology and Islamic studies.
