Bosun also known as Boatswain is the most senior deck rating staff and his duty consists of supervising the deck crew on the vessel. Furthermore, they are responsible for keeping a watch over the ship on the behalf of the captain or other senior officers. He acts as a proxy for the ship’s captain. 

Moreover, he ensures that his supervisors are able to carry out their responsibilities without the added complications of the crew. They also make sure that the ship is seaworthy at all times. They schedule duties as well as assign these to the deck crew members. 

Eligibility

For Bachelor’s

  • Students need to pass 10+2 class with at least 50% marks from a recognized board.
  • A GP Rating Course is a great option for the aspirants.
  • Candidates must apply for internship opportunities in order to gain expertise.
