About

A food safety officer also known as food sample analyst is a professional whose job is to inspect or analyse the food sample and find harmful elements in the food products, raw materials used while production or ingredients present in the food. If any hazardous raw material is found in the food then the officer will inform the producer, distributor or seller. 

The food safety officer is also responsible for visiting hotels, restaurants without informing, to inspect safety standards and if the food items are good or not. A food safety officer in India is elected at an administrative post by the State Government or Central Government.

Eligibility

For Bachelor’s

  • Aspirants need to pass 10+2 with at least 45% marks from any recognised board. 
  • Students can pursue a B.Tech/B.Sc in food technology/ biotechnology/ biochemistry, agriculture science/ dairy technology.

 For Masters

  • Students need to pass their master’s degree in food technology/ biotechnology/ biochemistry, agriculture science/ dairy technology. 

For Recruitment

  • You need to clear a state-level entrance exam, SSC.
