Geneticist

Unlocking the mysteries of the genetic code with cutting-edge research and proficiency

About

A geneticist is a scientist who studies genes, genetic variation and heredity in living organisms. They analyze how genes are passed down from one generation to the next and how they are expressed in individuals and populations.

Geneticists may conduct research in a variety of fields including medicine, agriculture, ecology and biotechnology. They study genetic diseases, genetic disorders, genetic mutations and develop treatments as well as therapies based on their findings. They may also work to identify the genetic basis of inherited diseases such as cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia and Huntington's disease.

Eligibility

For Bachelor’s

  • To get admission in top-ranked colleges/universities, a national level entrance exam is conducted like JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, NEET or any other required exam.
  • Aspirants need to have a bachelor’s degree in science with at least 60% marks from any recognised institute.

For Master’s

  • A master’s degree in science is a well-suited option for undergraduates.
  • Students need to obtain at least 65% marks in their PG Program.
  • Seekers can go further for Ph.D Program.
