About

A floriculturist is a professional who specialises in the cultivation, management and marketing of flowers as well as ornamental plants. Floriculturists may work in a variety of settings including commercial flower farms, greenhouses, nurseries and landscaping companies.

Their work involves selecting appropriate plant varieties, managing plant growth along with development and ensuring that plants are healthy and free from disease as well as pests. Floriculturists may also be responsible for designing and creating floral arrangements and managing floral displays for events such as weddings, funerals and corporate events.

Eligibility

For Bachelor’s

  • Candidates must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in science stream.
  • Entrance examinations are also conducted for admission in the UG Program.

For Masters

  • Aspirants must have completed a bachelor's degree in Horticulture or related fields with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Some universities may also require seekers to qualify for an entrance examination for an admission into the PG program.
