Infosys, one of India’s leading IT companies, is setting up a massive new campus in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, as part of its strategy to expand operations in the National Capital Region (NCR). The upcoming facility will be spread across 27.5 acres in Sector-85, Noida, and is expected to cost around Rs.750 crore in its first phase of development. Once ready, the campus will accommodate around 5,000 employees, making it one of Infosys’s biggest investments in the region.

A Strategic Expansion in the NCR

Infosys already has a strong presence across India, but the company is now focusing on growing its base in the NCR, one of the country’s most important technology and business hubs. Speaking about the project, Salil Parekh, CEO and MD of Infosys, said:

“The facility is a critical part of our effort to enhance our presence in the national capital region and leverage the talent pool available in this market. We are grateful to the state government of Uttar Pradesh for their support towards this endeavour.”

With several multinational corporations and IT companies operating in and around Noida, Infosys’s new campus is expected to further strengthen the city’s position as a leading destination for technology and innovation.

Details of the Project

The new campus will be built on the 27.5-acre land allotted by the Uttar Pradesh government in Noida’s Sector-85. In the first phase, Infosys will construct a 2.7 million square feet facility. The initial investment of Rs.750 crore will be used to build infrastructure capable of housing about 5,000 employees.

The design of the project has been given to RSP Design Consultants, a Singapore-based firm known for its cutting-edge architecture. Infosys has also announced that the building will aim for a LEED Platinum rating, which is the highest international certification for green and sustainable buildings, awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council. This means the facility will be designed to reduce environmental impact, use energy efficiently, and create a healthy working environment for employees.

Support from the Government

The project has received strong support from both the central and state governments. The U.P. government played a key role by allotting the land to Infosys for the campus. The company expressed gratitude towards the authorities for extending their support and making the expansion possible.

Infosys also mentioned that the upcoming campus was recognized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who felicitated the project. This endorsement highlights the importance of such investments for the state’s economic growth and for generating employment opportunities.

Job Creation and Opportunities

Once the campus becomes operational, it will have the capacity to accommodate about 5,000 employees. This will create significant employment opportunities, especially for the young and skilled talent in Uttar Pradesh and the NCR region. The IT sector is one of the fastest-growing industries in the country, and Infosys’s new facility is expected to boost demand for professionals in software development, data analytics, business consulting, and other technology-related services.

Apart from direct employment, the new campus is also likely to create indirect jobs in sectors such as construction, transport, hospitality, and facility management. Local businesses in and around Noida are expected to benefit from the increased economic activity.

Focus on Sustainability

One of the standout features of the upcoming Infosys campus is its commitment to sustainability. By aiming for a LEED Platinum rating, the company has signaled that the building will be designed with modern green practices. This could include energy-efficient lighting and air conditioning, rainwater harvesting, use of renewable energy, and eco-friendly construction materials.

Infosys has always emphasized its commitment to environmental responsibility. Its campuses in other cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune are known for incorporating sustainable technologies, and the Noida project will continue this tradition.

A Boost for Uttar Pradesh

For Uttar Pradesh, the Infosys project is a major milestone in its journey to become a hub for IT and business investments. Noida, in particular, has been attracting a growing number of companies due to its connectivity, availability of skilled manpower, and supportive government policies.

The presence of a global IT leader like Infosys will further raise the city’s profile and may attract more companies to set up their operations in the state. The move also aligns with the broader vision of making Uttar Pradesh a $1 trillion economy, as announced by the state government.

Construction Timeline

According to Infosys, the construction work for the new campus will begin once the final approvals from the government are received. Although the exact timeline for completion has not been shared yet, the project is expected to move forward quickly, given its scale and importance.

Looking Ahead

With this investment, Infosys is not only expanding its footprint in India but also reinforcing its role as a leader in the global IT services industry. The Noida campus will serve as a hub for innovation, client services, and employee growth.

The IT industry in India has been one of the biggest drivers of economic growth, and projects like this underline the sector’s resilience and potential. Infosys’s decision to invest heavily in Noida highlights the city’s growing importance as a business destination and shows confidence in the region’s talent and resources.

Backed by government support and recognized at the national level, the upcoming facility is not just a workplace but a symbol of the opportunities that lie ahead for Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region.
