JEE Main 2024: Eligibility Criteria
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to publish the online eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2024. The IIT JEE eligibility requirements for 2024 will be included in the information brochure. These criteria encompass various aspects including age limits, educational qualifications, admission prerequisites, and more, all of which candidates must satisfy to participate in the NTA JEE Main 2024 examination. Applicants have the option to review the JEE Main 2024 eligibility criteria by referring to notifications from preceding years:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations from a recognised board.
Year of Passing the Qualifying Examination
Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2022, 2023 or are appearing for it in 2024 will only be eligible for JEE Main 2024.
Number of Subjects in the Qualifying Exam
Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject, or any other subject
Admission Criteria for IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs
For admissions in B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Plan programs, candidates should either have a minimum of 75% marks (with a relaxation to 65% for SC/ST category candidates) or should rank within the top 20 percentile of their respective boards.
For B.Arch admissions in institutes other than IIITs, NITs, and CFITs, a 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 10+2 or its equivalent is required.

Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
The exam will consist of 30 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 10 Numerical Value Questions, all carrying equal weightage in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. However, candidates are required to answer only 5 out of the 10 numerical value questions.
Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing
In the Mathematics section, there will be 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 10 questions where the answer is a numerical value. Candidates are expected to respond to 5 out of the 10 numerical value questions.
In the Aptitude section, there will be 50 MCQs.
For the Drawing section, there will be 2 questions.
Mathematics, Aptitude and Planning
The Mathematics section will comprise 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 10 questions where the answer is a numerical value. Candidates are required to answer 5 out of the 10 numerical value questions.
In the Aptitude Test section, there will be 50 MCQs.
For the Planning Based Questions, there will be 25 MCQs.

JEE Main 2024: Syllabus
The JEE Main 2024 syllabus will be available shortly by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on jeemain.nta.nic.in/. In general, for the Paper 1 (BE/BTech) entrance examination, candidates are required to cover the syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from both Class 11th and 12th. Whereas, in Paper 2A that is for Architecture (BArch), the syllabus encompasses Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Drawing. For Paper 2B (BPlan), candidates should focus on Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Planning topics.
