The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has officially opened applications for its flagship engineering entrance examination, VITEEE 2026, marking the beginning of the B.Tech admission 2026-27 cycle for various programmes across its campuses in Vellore, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh (VIT-AP), and Bhopal. The entrance exam will serve as the gateway to a wide range of undergraduate engineering and technology programmes offered by the institute.
With thousands of aspirants expected to compete for seats in one of India’s most sought-after private engineering universities, VITEEE 2026 brings with it a structured selection process, updated programme options, and a clearly defined eligibility framework.
As per the official schedule, VITEEE 2026 is tentatively planned to be conducted between April 28 and May 3, 2026. The examination will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across designated test centres in India as well as selected international locations.
Candidates will be allowed to appear for the exam only once. Any violation of this rule may lead to cancellation of both application and admission, making adherence to guidelines crucial for aspirants.
The duration of the examination will be 2 hours and 30 minutes, and the question paper will be available only in English.
The VITEEE 2026 will consist entirely of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The paper is designed to evaluate a candidate’s conceptual understanding across core science subjects along with aptitude and English language skills.
